Here's a pic I shot recently in venice beach with DJ Drez before he took off on his european tour. I hadn't met him until this day and I was really glad that I did, he's a really cool and sweet guy, and I look forward to hearing what else he has going on.

Here is the first image to drop from shooting with one of my favorite skaters right now Theotis Beasley for Skullcandy. The set that we did with Theo was pretty amazing, so there will be alot more to come with him.

Favors from time to time are good things to have in your back pocket and well I think my buddy Jimbo Morgan was happy he had one to spare that I owed him. Jimbo recently asked me to shoot some of his Ski team for Skullcandy and well the way favors work, is regardless of if I want to I gotta do what I gotta do. Jimbo being the guy he is though never really makes me do anything I don't want to, and I know he know that I get along with his team just fine.

Anyway, here is Sammy Carlson in a pair of skullcrushers, showing off his love for fireworks and Skullcandy. Fortunately for everyone involved with this one I actually keep a fairly well stocked armory of firearms and fireworks, for you know... "just in case situations".

I can't think of any Australian's that I don't like, I am a bit terrified by their women I must admit, but thats because they can party like none other, but aside from that I like them all, and Insight pro surfer Kai Otton is no different. I was shooting Kai for an upcoming Skullcandy ad for the new Agent Headphone. I have learned quite a bit about the land down under by those fine fine culturalists Jermaine and Brett of the Flight of the concords such as "Australians like to name their women after men, revel in their convect past, and don't mind a cup a tea brewed in hot tap water". but I won't hold that against Kai.

Today's shoot really couldn't have been better, quick, easy, great results, and on top of doing a good shoot, I managed to get myself a fresh pair of new sneakers as well. Today in studio, we had Rockstar energy drink, Nike 6.0, Skullcandy, and Oakley, ski athlete Sammy Carlson. This gig was set up by my old pal Jimbo Morgan who has been a huge advocate and it was about time that I could return the favor for him and shoot one of his athletes. There isn't too many people that are better on the slopes than Sammy, and he's got his new movie "Can't Stop" coming out soon to prove it. I'll post up the finished picks up here as soon as I can.

My friends over at Skullcandy just sent me this today! They are having some pretty rad events down in my hood. I can't believe they got Del Tha Funky Homosapien to do it, thats so nuts. He's pretty awesome. I remember when we all met up with him for the first time at SXSW a few years back. Anyway, the show is going to be pretty nuts, and on top of Del being there, my buddy DJ Slipmatt is going to be spinning as well, so that will be pretty dope.

The other nite I was able to hook up with my buddies Chad Petree and Jeremy Dawson who are in this band called the Shiny Toy Guns. Chad's a pretty big fan of Skullcandy and actually recorded their latest record Season of Poison with the Sk Pros. So it was pretty cool to kick it with them and hear thier anecdotes and all that. As you can see, Chad's talents go beyond just his musical abilites, but he's got a pretty incredible sense of fasion as well.

I recently shot some new photos for Skullcandy featuring artist OG Abel for his new headphone coming out with those guys. I haven't seen the actual ad mockups yet, but I know they are going to be pretty awesome. This ad actually features his new skullcrusher headphone with his money rose design all over it. I was over at The Skullcandy launch party for their partnership with At&t over at the Henry Fonda Theater in Los Angeles and I saw this out in front with got me pretty excited. Seeing stuff printed big is always pretty awesome. I've done a number of billboards now and I never get over stuff like that and this wasn't even that big. Anyway i've got to now go hit up the guys at skullcandy to send me over the ad mockups, because they got me really excited!

I wish I read more magazines, so I would know when new photos that I worked on were out. I bunch of people recently called me to congratulate me on my new Snoop Dogg ads and I had no idea they were out. There are going to be a bunch of other athletes and artists that are in this campaign that I shot its going to be a pretty awesome once they are all out! I really need to subscribe to more magazines.

This was pretty random, but I was over in Lake Tahoe doing some work for Mountain Dew for their final stop on the Dew Tour with my friend and long time collaborator, Ray Young Chu. We got a rental car (which cost us way too much money) But had no music to listen to, when I happened to remember that I happened to have a cd from J.Period in my bag. Anyway when I got home today from the trip, I hopped on to myspace and happened to see a photo that seemed oddly familier. Anyway it took me a moment, then I actually read the tagline, and it was J.Period. It was pretty cool to see one of my photos on the front page of myspace.

J.Period's new mix tape The Best of Q-Tip is pretty rediculous, and I am glad to see that its getting a fair amount of promotion. One thing that I do feel bad for is that I totally lag sometime. J.Period for some reason always has the worst luck when it comes to hitting me up about photos. We did a shoot together a while ago for the new Tony Hawk video game and Skullcandy and I got all the photos out for the releases, but I for some reason just lagged at getting them to him. Sometimes I really suck.

so today I was off down south to do some work for my dudes over at Skullcandy with pro skater Pierre Luc Gagnon, or PLG as I guess most people call him. I didn't know too much about the guy to be honest with you, but when I asked my buddy Dylan over at Oakley all he said back was Woah, so I took that as a good thing. Anyway this is a pretty rough shot, that I just nabbed, because I don't really wanna spill the beans before the images drop. Anyway this shoot was pretty rushed and I was pretty bummed, because Pierre didn't have all that much time available to him, because of doctors appointments and things like that. So anyway I shot a bunch of photos and was bummed, he said that we could shoot again soon with more time available. Anyway he took I off, and I realized that he lives super close to DC Shoes, so I stopped by to visit and spend some time with them, because I hadn't been down there since I went to shoot the women's look book. During my visit, Pierre hit me up saying that he got out early and that if I was still around we could shoot more, so I went back and we were able to get a ton of much better shots. I'm pretty lucky that I like to dilly dally around alot, other wise I would have taken off and would have to have driven all the way back down to Carlsbad another day.

Anyway, here is a photo that I saw randomly that I shot with the new Mike Shinoda shoe from DC, Mike is actually wearing the shoe in this, believe it or not.

This is one of my most recent ads I did for Skullcandy with Christian Hosoi. I've seen it all over the place I'm pretty happy that the Skullcandy guys have been really pushing it. Its crazy to see the same ad in mags over and over again. I'm pretty use to getting my work out there in the mags and all that, but its crazy to see them using the same image again and again, especially when I know they have other stuff coming in. Its just cool to know they like my stuff that much.

So after my last post about Coachella, I found a bunch of other pics from SXSW that I totally forgot to post earlier. It kind of sucks that these are all kind of old news, but oh well I guess, its better than nothing I suppose. SXSW was pretty cool, I wasn't really able to see that many "new" cool bands. I mainly saw a bunch of more established acts which kind of sucks and takes away from the discovering new bands aspect of SXSW, but i guess thats what you get when you go to these things for work. It was pretty cool to be able to see Pharrell Williams and N.E.R.D. a couple of times. I got to meet up and hang out with a ton of artists here are a couple that I found on this camera, A-track, David Banner, and Del the Funky Homosapien.

So our Mykal my pal over at Fake Rich made these a while back and being the lazy bumm I am I never made a post about it now. Anyway, he made these very limited edition color way headphones with Skullcandy. They are pretty sweet, and everytime I am out and his Djs are wearing these, all people keep asking me is when they are coming out. Well, my answer is , never! these are limited edition and sweet, now all I need to do is to get my hands on a pair.

Miami is already a pretty ridiculous place, it is also home to one of my favorite shows C.S.I, and when you throw Winter music conference into the mix, woah, lets just say I had to try really really hard to refrain from being a really bad guy. I got the oppertunity to hit up a ton of events with Y.O.O.K.S. as well as my buddy Charlie from Skullcandy. While I was out there we ran into a bunch of friends like Tiffany and Tachi from back home. Tiff is was looking a little too good for her own good out there. Here is Tachi and I kickin it with the Frank 151 crew. They honestly produce one of the best publications out there. Its so funny that this one little book can do it so right where everyone sucks so much. One of these days I would love to do something with them, but till then, I'm still pretty satisfied with being a super fan. So outside of hanging out with friends and stuff I ended up busting my foot outthere. it was terrible. I would post a photo of it, but it looks really gross, so here for the world to see is an artists redition of my foot in all it's glory. Gross. Well out there we ran into many
other notables, like Craze, Xavier and Gasbarre from Justice, the Crystal Method, and a bunch more that I am too tired to remember.

After all the shenanigans this year I'm not sure if i'll be able to make it out next year, or if they'll even let us back, but all I know is thanks to Y.O.O.K.S. we came up in a big way!

So this is my latest installment in my Series of Franco Shade ads with artist Arlo Eisenburg that should be hitting the magazines soon. This time we shot Dj's Dan Sena and GMO, who are the resident dj's every Wedsday over at the Detroit bar in Costa Mesa with their weekly party Busy Werk. Congrats to GMO for being recently added to The Skullcandy DJ crew. I don't think I have ever seen him not rocking his Skullcandy SK pro head phones, this ad included.

I just got back from a much needed trip to Utah. I finally got a chance to visit the new Skullcandy offices and It is really amazing how much they have grown since my last visit. I also got to take a peep at some of the new ads that they are using some of my work for featuring DGK's Stevie Williams. The portraits are by me, and the action photos are by Matt Daughters. I'm pretty excited, and I think I am actually going to be shooting quite a bit more for these guys which makes me pretty happy. I have to admit that I actually really like it in Utah, well at least Park City and Salt Lake, I'm not so sure about everywhere else, but I've never really had a bad time there. I'm definetely going to be back out for Sundance.

Well, I've been in up north in the bay area for the last couple of days and have had a really great time seeing alot of family and friends. I wasn't originally going to come up here till Thursday for the RVCA SF store opening party, but the guys from Skullcandy convinced me to come up for the Icer Air event in the the Giants stadium. I've been waiting all year for this event. I'm really really excited.

Before Icer Air, I have never been to a Ski or Snowboarding contest. I have to admit it was actually alot cooler than I thought it was going to be. I got to meet a bunch of people that are on the Skullcandy Ski team as well as thier team manager who was a extremely cool guy, and I really look forward with working with him again in the future. I also got to chill a bit with Andreas Wiig who I shot last month and had no idea who he was until after the shoot and was super cool. I really think he is an awesome guy and I was actually really sad when he didn't win. I normally don't get bummed at sporting events, because I am really not interested in sports, but Andreas is an amazingly nice person, I think even the guy that came in first was bummed he did, because Andreas Wigg is that awesome. I am honestly excited that I am going to be spending alot of this winter on the snow.

Today I had a photo shoot with DGK and Reebok Skater Stevie Williams for Skullcandy. Stevie was ridiculously nice and his dad who was at the shoot as well as really cool. I was really happy about the turn out, and I was really happy that it was on the street as opposed to the studio. I have been shooting a ton of in studio catalog stuff and it has really been bumming me out. So it was nice to be outside for the afternoon. It was cool to find out the Stevie was a fan of the show NBC Heroes, because my buddy James is on the show, I would have never thought he would be into it, but I thought that was pretty cool.

My pals over at Franco Shade and Dj's GMO and Dan Sena are putting on a pretty sweet Halloween Party over at the Detroit bar in Costa Mesa. I usually don't make it out to alot of stuff, but there are too many good things happening at this one, and I know way too many people working on this one to miss out. GMO and Dan have a regular night over at the Detroit called Busy Work, which is actually a pretty good night, tons of rad people go, and they have some pretty awesome bands come through and play. Earlier this month it was their night that Datarock came to play, and I also saw Har Mar Superstar and Modrocket play there after a RVCA party that they played.

So today is my last day out here in sunny Salt Lake City. It has been really great, I had and amazing time thanks to every one over at Skullcandy, and to Justin Benee and Stevie Bell. Everyone was super cool. The guys over at Skullcandy gave me this crazy gum called Stay Alert, apparently the military made this chewing gum with caffeine in it, that absorbs into your body super fast. It really worked, it was nuts. Something I did learn though was that:

I've learned my lesson
