Kelsey Brookes in a genius, there is really no doubt in that, his show was pretty amazing! The only thing that can really eclipse his genius is the sheer brilliance of Lion Cut the band that played at his opening. You have gotta check them out, pretty amazing.

Here is an ad I was a part of for RVCA featuring one of my favorite artists Kelsey Brookes. Its crazy to think how far we have come and how things have changed when I met Kelsey for the first time a few years ago. I'm glad to be able to work with him again. For a while, he really was pretty much the only reason I would go down to San Diego. I love his life, surfing, skating, painting, and watching softcore porn, what else could a guy want out of life, on top of that, he's got a pretty amazing diet, beans all the time!

All this week I have been working in LA on a bunch things, but probably the most important thing I have been working on is this art show with my buddy Kelsey at the New Image Art Gallery. This is his first solo show in the U.S. and its pretty awesome. If you are free tomorrow, I highly advise you to come to the opening the work is pretty incredible.

So lately i have been kind of obsessed with facebook thanks to Brad from Skullcandy and his consistent badgering of trying to turn me on to this thing. I never joined Friendster, and it was hard enough for me to finally get into myspace. Even worse, they have this thing where you can add a bunch of applications to your profile, and one was to become a Zomble. So I did and now I spend a good portion of my time in the morning fighting other Zombies, Werewolves and Vampires, sounds like I am being pretty productive right? Here is a shot of my little guy as a Zombie Lefttenit I don't know why I get so addicted to such things. This is exactly why I don't play too many video games any more.
While I was in Vegas with Derek of the Bum Squad Dj's and Brad from Skullcandy, I was emailed about a new David Choe print that was out and I went online and purchased it right away, and today, I've finally got it! I've really been into David's art for a really long time, but have never really had the chance to get anything, so I was really really excited about the opportunity to pick this guy up. I don't really buy too much art any more, because I get really caught up in work, but I felt like I needed to spoil my self a bit, and well I figured this way would actually be the least expensive, and the least self destructive thing I could do. Although I am going to have a pretty big art week coming up with the Vans Sky Gallery event coming up, as well as Kelsey's Lab 101 show and the RVCA SF event coming up as well. I think I am going to be broke...

Well, I'm back from NYC and I've pretty much recovered from a week's worth of antics and shenanigans. I went out there pretty exhausted, and a came back even more. I have no idea what I was thinking when I told everyone that I was going to get some rest while I was out there. What I did happen to take care of was a bunch of business that I had to do while I was out there. The first thing I took care of out there was a bunch of paper work for Atlantic records so that my photos can be apart of the Gym Class Heroes rerelease of their album As Cruel As School Children. I was also asked to shoot Director/Art Curator and friend Aaron Rose for Huck Magazine. This is a snap shot of one of the locations we used. I recently had some photos published in most recent issue of their magazine of Kelsey Brookes.
The Heist Party was pretty crazy. It was a good chance for me to catch up with a ton of friends, Adrian (pictured here) was a gracious and lovely host as usual. I look forward to seeing him on his up and coming tour with Paramore. Ellie from the Shadowscene.com was out and about shooting away. Along with Bronx from lastnightsparties.com and Jac Vanek. I think most of them have photos up online for people to see some of the tomfoolery.

I've been talking to the guys over at 530 media lab for quite some time now. We are currently working on a pretty large scale project right now for my pals over at triumvir which should be coming out pretty soon now. Triumvir has these shirts coming out with some images that pin up artist Gil Elgren did which is pretty cool. I thought it was really cool of those guys to actually go get a license to reproduce his work than stealing the images that other people produce like alot of companies do. I've always loved Elgren's work, a really awesome girl I dated a long time ago turned me onto his work. She was really into it, she even worked at Ruby's Diner and drove a really cool old car.

Any way, 530 and I have been talking about alot of cool possibilites for the future and hopefully we'll be working alot more together.

I did some photos last week of Dingo, Home Wreck, Eero Neimela, and Bozung of the Neff Headware, Snow team that are going to be part of their next ad campaign. I believe that these are getting run in the next issue of Transworld . The shoot went really well dispite it being super hot. Dingo was really good sport about being all wrapped up in a hoody and mask for the shoot in all of the heat. I even got a few shots of Neff and Bozung together during the shoot that were pretty funny. This next campaign with them is going to be pretty crazy and they are pulling in some pretty rad people in for the next shoot.

In the latest issue of Vapors I've got that image of Jeremy Kove that I shot a while back which is pretty cool. I really dig what they do over at that mag, and Maurice the editor is a pretty cool guy. We've met a number of times, but have never really been able to do anything together, but I happened to meet Jeremy at an art show through Kelsey Brookes , who asked if I would shoot him for the mag. It's kind of weird how things work out like that
